December 11 and 12 (tonight and tomorrow night) at December 11 and 12 (tonight and tomorrow night) at 7pm, Prof. Fifi Zhang will present "Corporeal", a showcase of contemporary classical music accompanied by experimental dance. Co-presented by City College of New York, this show brings electrifying and diverse classical music programming to Harlem, while emphasizing how sound and movement can inform and inspire one another. Musicians Graeme Steele Johnson, Giancarlo Latta, Aaron Wolff, and Fifi Zhang perform a variety of solo and chamber music written by living composers alongside dancers Marisa Clementi, ALEXA GRÆ, and Leah Wilks. The program features music by John Zorn, Viet Cuong, Reena Esmail, Zosha Di Castri, inti figgis-vizueta, and Gabriella Smith. The centerpiece of the evening is the world premiere of a commissioned work by composer Yaz Lancaster. Admission is free! In today’s market, how does one build a brand that In today’s market, how does one build a brand that stands out from the rest? Storytelling through Performance examines how personal narratives enhance one’s musical choices. Students will develop a repertoire list while working on skills such as writing artist bios, public speaking, and developing pitches to various types of audiences. The course will culminate in a public showcase. Prof. Ashley Jackson will admit students from other performance majors.
