Hartford Opera Theatre will present “Fortune’s Children,” a short opera, live over Zoom on October 16 and 17 at 7 pm, Music and Libretto by Prof. David Wolfson.
There are 3 brothers: Alex, a white collar worker; Pat, a small business owner; and Chris, an essential worker. Like all families, they have a complicated past and layers to their relationship. At the beginning of the next pandemic, Chris calls his brothers to a zoom meeting and drops a bombshell: he will no longer be able to be the caregiver for their elderly mother. By the end of the meeting, the brothers’ explicit arrangements and tacit assumptions about each other have been laid waste.
Tickets for Fortune’s Children will be available for purchase late September. Visit their website for more details.
