The Wall Street Journal Reviews “The Hope I Hold” by Professor Ryan Keberle and Catharsis

Professor Ryan Keberle and his band Catharsis has just released their 6th studio album, “The Hope I Hold” this year. The band features the inspiring musicianship of Camila Meza, Scott Robinson, Matt Clohesy and Eric Doob, and the music draws inspiration and words from Langston Hughes’ epic poem, “Let America Be America Again”. While concluding their album release tour this summer, The Wall Street Journal has also released their review of the album on the eve of the band’s final tour performance. Here are some quotes from the article:

“…it reflects Mr. Keberle’s fascination with textures and unique harmonies…”

“The music on the recording both expands and streamlines the band’s sound.”

“Catharsis has a unique sound but some distant, obscure antecedents.”

“…Mr. Keberle’s band makes innovative yet accessible music.”
