Prof. Ashley Jackson and Prof. Tom Zlabinger (York College) joined together to present “Alice Coltrane: Pure Love and Openness” for CUNY’s Faculty Diversity and Inclusion Conference 2021. The workshop, held on April 16, opened with a discussion led by Prof. Jackson about her research and transcription of Alice Coltrane’s “Prema”. She then tossed it to Prof. Zlabinger who discussed his work on jam sessions and creating inclusive spaces for all to join in. The workshop concluded with an improvisation led by the two CUNY professors
