Last October, Hartford Opera Theatre (HOT) presented the premiere of “Fortune’s Children,” a short opera by Prof. David Wolfson written to be performed live over Zoom, among the first of its kind. “Fortune’s Children” was a response to the pandemic and the BLM protests; its characters were three brothers—a white-collar worker, a small business owner, and an essential worker. On March 12th and 13th, HOT will premiere “Changing Fortunes: Fortune’s Children part 2,” which follows the same characters as they navigate the shifting ground underneath them.
