The American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies is an interdisciplinary group dedicated to the advancement of scholarship in all aspects of the period from the later seventeenth through the early nineteenth centuries.
Prof. Catherine Coppola will give two presentations at the 50th Anniversary Conference of the American Society for Eighteenth Century Studies in Denver, CO, March 21-24, 2019. Her paper “Fallacies of Context and Change: Why We Need Mozart’s Women Now More than Ever” was selected for the #metoo panel. A second paper, “The Long Shadow of Sexism: Reading the Eighteenth Century in (the) Light of #MeToo” as well as her Hunter College course “Women and Power in Mozart’s Operas” were selected for the Pedagogy Poster Presentation.
