Fall Faculty Updates for Steven Graff

This fall, Professor Steven Graff, piano, will be involved in various exciting musical endeavors.

Steven can be heard on John Carbon’s recently released CD of clarinet works on Zimbel Records.  On the CD, Steven performs his Fantasy Pieces and Tunes from a Tree House (2015) with award-winning clarinetist Doris Hall-Gulati.  Also included is Carbon’s Clarinet Concerto with Richard Stoltzman, George Manahan and the Warsaw National Philharmonic (1994) as well as his Rhapsody for Clarinet and Orchestra with Doris Hall-Gulati, Gerard Schwartz and the New York Chamber Symphony (1997).

On November 5th at 3:00pm, Steven will be a guest pianist at a Chamber Music Concert sponsored by New York Philharmonic Education at LeFrak Concert Hall at Kupferbert Center for the Arts at Queens College, performing Shostakovich’s beautiful Piano Quintet.

On November 12th at 4:00pm, Steven will perform with the Artemisia Trio at The Takaezu Studio Concert Series in Quakertown, New Jersey. They will perform Trios by Arensky, Haydn, and Piazzolla (arr.).  After the concert, audience members are invited to enjoy a wine and cheese reception and to view the beautiful pieces in the breathtaking Takaezu pottery studio.

Steven will also be performing in two upcoming concerto performances this winter and spring in New York City.  On February 11th at 3:00pm, he will play Prokofiev No. 1 with the New York Symphonic Arts Ensemble at the Julia Richman Auditorium on 67th Street and Second Avenue, and on May 20th at 4:00pm, he will perform Chopin No. 2 sponsored by the Canterbury Choral Society at Church of the Heavenly Rest on 90th Street and Fifth Avenue.
